Dolly came to live at Mockingbird as an "older"woman, wise in the ways of the world. She took my virgin male, Jem, by the hand... ah... I guess that should be paw... and introduced him into the intricacies of kitty-reproduction :-). And so it was that the first litter ever born at Mockingbird was delivered by Dolly... a litter which included GC Mockingbird Fade In, Mockingbird's first born kitten and first Grand Champion

Dolly had two litters at Mockingbird and then was retired to be the spayed matriarch of the household where she often "baby-sat" other queen's kittens while the mothers took a break from nursing their broods. In the spring of 2002 at almost 14 years old, Dolly quietly died in her sleep, curled up in her favorite chair. I know Dolly is now taking care of all the kittens in heaven.
