"Tess" was
the first born kitten of GC NW PJ. Unfortunately
the litter was 8 days early and only Tess survived. At birth, Tess weighed
only 2.1 ounces. Her stillborn littermates were under 2 ounces.
Not only
was Tess too immature to nurse, she couldn't even breathe well.
So I rigged
up an Oxygen system and then began the most tiring 2 weeks of my life.
Every 2
hours Tess would receive an oxygen treatment. Ever 4 hours I would tube
feed her... around the clock. After almost 2 weeks, she still only weighed
2.1 ounces. I was almost ready to give up. Then on day 13 she gained a
tenth of an ounce! And after that she never looked back.
Tess blossomed.
She was so small as a kitten that she was never shown, but she grew into
a magnificent adult. Her eyes are huge... her ears tiny. She is extreme
with a huge head and cobby body and a lovely draping coat.
Debuting
at 9 months, Tess was awarded 3rd Best Cat as an OPEN, then earned 153
grand points in her first two shows as a Champion, including finaling
in the top 10 over many Grand Champions.
Unfortunately,
she then immediately blew her coat... so after a few months off to "don"
a new dress, Tess granded at her first show back, once again being honored
in the top ten!
